Website design for physiotherapy clinics

We design and build websites for physiotherapy clinics that let patients find their problem, see the fee and book a physio from their phone. Our working demo for a fictional Adelaide clinic shows what yours could do.

Gait Lab Physiotherapy is a fictional physiotherapist in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia, created by VirtueInfo to show what we build. Designed and developed by our team.

What a physiotherapy clinic website has to do

Most people looking for a physio are in pain and on their phone. They want to know three things fast: whether you treat their problem, what it costs, and when they can come in. A desk worker with a sore neck often books at night after the kids are in bed. A runner with a knee problem wants a physio who understands sport and a Saturday slot. An older adult after a hip replacement is often booked by a son or daughter who needs plain information about fees and rebates.

A clinic site has to answer those questions without a phone call. It should list conditions by body area, show each practitioner and what they focus on, state the fees and how insurance claims work, and let the patient book a real time. It also needs to say clearly when someone should see a doctor or call emergency services instead.

How our demo clinic handles it

We built Gait Lab Physiotherapy, a fictional clinic in Adelaide, Australia, to show this working. VirtueInfo created the business, the six practitioners and the sample reviews. It is not a client.

The home page opens with a body map. The patient taps the neck, shoulder, lower back, hip, knee or ankle and sees the common conditions for that area, the appointment that usually suits it and the physio who often sees it. A "book for this" link opens the booking page with the appointment and body area already filled in. Below that, the home page shows opening hours, a four-step outline of the first visit, the main services, three practitioners, sample fees and a short note on when to call 000.

The inner pages cover the rest:

  • Conditions we treat, grouped into six body areas, each with the usual first appointment.
  • Sports physio, with a return-to-sport ladder and a running gait assessment using treadmill video.
  • Clinical Pilates, with the path into class and a weekly timetable that shows places left.
  • Practitioners, with a filter by speciality such as running, pelvic health or post-surgery.
  • Fees and health funds, with a fee table, a gap estimator, and notes on Medicare care plans and NDIS.

The booking page is the signature feature. The patient picks a practitioner or "first available", chooses an appointment type, then a day from the next ten and an open time. Taken slots are greyed out, and fully booked days are marked. A summary panel updates as they go, and a progress bar shows which of the four steps are done. In the demo nothing is sent. On your site the booking goes to your booking system, your email or your CRM.

Local SEO built in

Every page carries schema.org markup with the Physiotherapy business type, the city served, opening hours, accepted payments and a breadcrumb trail. Service pages add Service and Offer markup for things like the gait assessment and Pilates classes. Page titles pair the service with the city, for example sports physio or clinical Pilates in Adelaide, which is how patients search.

We match the name, phone number, hours and services to your Google Business Profile so search engines see one consistent clinic. The pages use self-hosted fonts, drawn illustrations instead of heavy photos, and very little JavaScript, so they load quickly on a mobile connection. The Gait Lab Physiotherapy pages carry no search listing because the company is fictional; a live physiotherapist site gets a sitemap, canonical URLs and a Search Console property instead.

Notes for each market

India

Fees are shown in rupees, and many patients expect to pay by UPI at the clinic or confirm an appointment over WhatsApp. We can add a WhatsApp booking button beside the online form. English works for most clinic sites, and we can add Hindi or a regional language where your patients need it.

USA

In the USA the profession is usually called physical therapy, so we write the site around physical therapists and physical therapy clinics, with American spelling. Fees and insurance notes are in US dollars, and the gap estimator can become a co-pay or out-of-pocket explainer. Each therapist's state license can be shown on their profile.

Canada

Canadian clinics usually present fees in Canadian dollars and explain direct billing to extended health insurers. A clinic in Québec needs a French version of the site, and we build it as a full second language rather than a translation widget. Registration with the provincial regulator can be shown on each profile.

Australia

The demo is written for Australia: Australian English, fees in AUD, on-the-spot health fund claiming, Medicare GP care plans and NDIS. Each physio card has a place for the AHPRA registration number, and the footer has a place for the ABN.

Finland

Finnish clinics often need the site in Finnish, Swedish and English. Fees are in euros, and the site can explain how Kela reimbursement or occupational health referrals apply. We build each language as its own set of pages so each one can rank in search.

What we deliver and how the project runs

We design the site to your brand, your colours and your clinic's tone, then write or edit the content with you: conditions, services, practitioner profiles, fees and the questions your front desk answers every day. We connect booking or enquiries to the tools you already use, whether that is your booking system, email, WhatsApp or your CRM.

The project starts with a short call about your services and patients, then moves through design, content, build and review on a staging link you can share with your team. At launch we hand over the site, the logins and a short guide to editing it. After that we can look after updates, security and hosting through our healthcare software services.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can patients book online directly through the website?

Yes. The demo booking flow lets a patient choose a practitioner, an appointment type, a day and an open time, then enter their details. On your site we connect that flow to your booking system so the slots shown are your real availability. If you prefer to confirm bookings by hand, the form can send requests to your email, WhatsApp or CRM instead.

Can the site show what a patient pays after their health insurance rebate?

Yes. The demo includes a gap estimator where the patient picks an appointment and enters the rebate from their fund, and the page shows the fee, the rebate and what they pay on the day. We adapt the wording and the logic to how insurance works in your country, whether that is private health funds, Medicare care plans, insurer co-pays or direct billing.

How do you handle registration numbers and clinical claims on a physio website?

Each practitioner card in the demo has a labelled place for a registration number, which is where your real details go. We keep clinical text descriptive, describe what happens at an appointment, and avoid promising outcomes. You and your team review every page before launch, and you check the content against the rules of your professional body.

Will the website work for a clinic with several physios and services?

Yes. The demo has six practitioners, a speciality filter, separate pages for sports physio and Clinical Pilates, and a booking flow that lets the patient choose a named physio or the first available. The same structure scales to more practitioners, more services or a second location.
