Website design for cleaning companies

We build cleaning company websites that show a price before anyone picks up the phone. Our working demo is Fernleaf Cleaning, a fictional house and office cleaner in Canberra, ACT.

Fernleaf Cleaning is a fictional cleaning company in Canberra, ACT, Australia, created by VirtueInfo to show what we build. Designed and developed by our team.

What a cleaning company website has to do

People who search for a cleaner usually want three answers quickly: how much, when, and who will be in the house. A busy household wants a fortnightly clean at a known price with the same person each time. A tenant moving out wants a fixed price by home size and the list the property manager will check. An office manager wants after-hours visits and careful handling of keys.

So the site should price the job without a phone call, take a booking with a date and arrival window, and show exactly what a clean includes. It also needs to state the checks and cover customers ask about before they hand over a key: police checks, insurance and your ABN.

How the demo handles it

Fernleaf Cleaning is a fictional business that VirtueInfo created for this demo. It is not a client, and the team, reviews and prices are samples. Everything on the site works, apart from sending, which stops at a confirmation screen that says so.

The home page opens with the estimator inside the first screen. Below it are the three kinds of clean, the standard checklist split into kitchen, bathrooms and living areas, and three steps from estimate to a photographed, ticked list. The home cleaning page compares regular and one-off deep cleans and adds seasonal notes on winter condensation and spring pollen.

The signature feature is the instant estimate on the packages page. A visitor picks home type, bedrooms, bathrooms and frequency, then adds extras. The price, time on site and team size change with each tap, and a breakdown shows the base clean, frequency rate and extras. The estimate can be emailed through a short form or carried straight into the booking page.

The booking page asks for the kind of clean, a date, one of three arrival windows, the suburb and how to get in. It states that no payment is taken online and that the street address is confirmed by phone. The end-of-lease page has a 22-item bond-back checklist with a progress ring, and ticks stay in that browser so a tenant can come back to it.

The office page swaps the calculator for a free walk-through and lists how keys and alarm codes are handled. The about page shows the team as initials and holds placeholders for police checks, insurance and the ABN.

Local SEO built in

Each page carries schema.org structured data using the HomeAndConstructionBusiness type, with the business name, phone, city, opening hours and the districts served. The services sit in an offer catalogue with sample prices, the FAQ sections use FAQ markup, and the booking page adds a reserve action. Titles target what people type, such as "end of lease cleaning Canberra" and "office cleaning Canberra".

The about page lists every district covered as readable text. The name, phone number and service area match what you would put in your Google Business Profile, so both tell search engines the same story.

There are no libraries and no photos, just HTML, CSS, self-hosted fonts and one script, which keeps pages quick on mobile data. The demo is excluded from search results because the business is invented. Since Fernleaf Cleaning is a made-up cleaning company, its demo is hidden from search. A real cleaning company site we build is published indexable, with every page listed in the sitemap.

Notes for each market we serve

India

We write in Indian English, price in rupees and can add Hindi or a regional language. Many households book home services over WhatsApp, so the estimate can open a WhatsApp chat with the details filled in. UPI is the usual way to pay after the job, and the site can say so.

USA

We switch to American spelling and dollar prices, and the service area works on ZIP codes. Move-out cleans replace end-of-lease wording, and the checklist follows the landlord walk-through. Insurance and bonding details go where the demo shows police checks and cover.

Canada

We use Canadian spelling, Canadian dollars and postal codes. For Québec we build French versions of every page, including the estimator labels. Any municipal or provincial registration you hold sits in the footer.

Australia

The demo already uses Australian English, AUD including GST and bond-clean language that tenants and property managers recognise. Cleaners usually display an ABN, and police check and public liability details sit on the about page. The district list adapts to your city's suburbs.

Finland

We build in Finnish and Swedish, with English for expat households, and show euro prices including VAT. Your business ID goes in the footer. Home cleaning can qualify for the household tax credit, so the estimate can show the labour share separately.

What we deliver and how the project runs

We design to your brand, not the Fernleaf look, and write the copy with you from your checklists, rates and areas. The estimator formula is built from your own prices, and you can change the rates later without touching the layout.

Bookings and estimates go to your email, WhatsApp, your CRM or your booking system. At hand-over you get the code, the hosting setup and a guide to editing prices and checklists. Once the site is live, our digital marketing services team can help with your Google Business Profile, reviews and local search.

Send us your services, rates and the suburbs you clean in, and ask us for a quote.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can customers see a price before they book a clean?

Yes. The demo estimator asks for home type, bedrooms, bathrooms and how often, then shows a "from" price and how long the clean takes. Extras add their own amount. We set the formula from your real rates, and the figure carries through to the booking request.

How does the booking form deal with keys and alarm codes?

It asks how the cleaner gets in (at home, key safe, neighbour or office reception) but tells people not to type codes into the form. The demo then says the street address and any codes are confirmed by phone. We keep that approach on client sites because a web form is the wrong place for a door code.

Is an end-of-lease checklist worth having on the site?

For companies that do bond cleans, it answers the tenant's main worry before they call. The demo lists 22 items by room, lets people tick them off and remembers their progress on that device. It also makes the re-clean promise concrete, since the covered items are written down.

Can office cleaning work differently from home cleaning on the site?

Yes. Offices vary too much for a calculator, so the demo office page offers a free walk-through and a written quote instead. It lists what each visit covers and explains how keys are tagged and signed out. Your site can mix both approaches in the same way.
